What is Hypnobirthing and How does the course make use of self-hypnosis?

Hypnobirthing is a positive, learned way of looking at your birth experience/labour. When you are relaxed (by entering self-hypnosis) it is possible to make contact with your unconscious mind in order to bring changes in your life. The unconscious is an untapped resource for creativity and you can use it to have the birth experience you desire. It connects you with your own power.

Humans have 2 ‘mind states’ The Conscious Mind, where we spend a lot of our day and The Unconscious Mind. Everyone experiences hypnosis naturally and regularly for example: just as you fall asleep/awake, watching tv and daydreaming in the car. This ‘space’ of altered awareness can be used to access your deeper unconscious mind and install useful programmes that enable you to become deeply relaxed and confident during your labour.

These programmes can be accessed again when labour/birthing begins and the more you practice, practice, practice, the easier it will be to reconnect to these helpful states and easily feel more and more comfortable, more and more relaxed.
