Pregnancy Yoga

One of the most important tools in your birth-year toolbox! There are many yoga teachers now offering Yoga for Pregnancy. Check google and/or mumsnet/netmums for your local service. It is usual to wait until after 12 weeks before embarking on a yoga course. If you already use yoga and are now pregnant it is important to tell your teacher so you can modify your exercises until after the 12week period.

Massage

Massage should not really be chosen before 12 weeks.
Please choose a therapist who has experience working with other pregnant mums and discuss the use of oils for massage (some people will have intolerance to particular base massage oils) and any potential aromatherapy oils. Some opinions are that it is best not to use any aromatherapy oils during pregnancy, others will stay with the safer choices like lavender, rose, peppermint but do discuss with them.

Reflexology

Excellent for back and pelvic pain, to relieve stress, promote sleep and deep relaxation. Can be used successfully to begin labour once you have reached your due date. Beware of searching on the internet for solutions to bring on labour as these treatments are very strong and should only be suggested under professional supervision/advice.
